Sheeding X-ray Synchrotron light on Barocaloric Materials

Researchers from RASMIA visited I15, the Extreme Conditions X-ray Diffraction beamline at Diamond Light Source (UK), to study how the crystal structure of hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites evolves under varying temperature and pressure. These materials are promising candidates for solid-state cooling technologies based on the barocaloric effect. In the picture, you can see Emmanouil Charkiolakis removing a sample from the pressure cell.
